Question

How many pages should your bar exam index be?

Mine is at 52 and I am not finished. Seen people in here say 35. Is 52 already a problem or does it depend on how it is laid out?

52 is fine. The number people quote is much less useful than how fast you can find something in it, and those are not the same measurement.

Time yourself. Pick ten things at random, look each one up, see how long it takes. Consistently under about fifteen seconds and the length does not matter. If you are hunting around, your ordering is the problem rather than your page count.

Did this. Eight of ten were quick, two took me nearly a minute because I had filed them under a word I would never think of first. Very useful exercise.

mine was 60 odd and i passed. think anywhere between 30 and 70 is normal tbh

the fifteen second test is a good idea, doing that tonight

Only thing I would add is that the last ten pages you write are usually the most useful ones, because by then you know what you keep missing. Do not stop early to hit a page count somebody on a forum gave you.
