Sat the June sitting, ask me anything about the exam day itself
sat solicitor in june. results are out and i passed, so i can finally think about it without feeling sick.
ask me anything about how the day runs. i am not going to talk about anything that was on the paper and please do not ask, but the logistics side i remember far too well.

How long between arriving and actually starting
Longer than you expect. There is check in, there is finding your seat, there is a lot of sitting still while other people are checked in.
Mine was about 50 minutes between walking in and the actual start. That sounds trivial and it is not, because it is 50 minutes of nervous energy with nothing to do. Have a plan for it.
Are you allowed to say anything about the questions themselves. Like the style not the content
Going to give you a straight no on that, and not because I am being precious.
Style shades into content faster than you would think, and I am not spending my licensing application on a forum post. The practice materials are a good guide to the shape of it, which is what you are actually asking.
Completely fair, was not trying to push it
did you finish with time left or were you against the clock
Against it, and I was one of the faster people in my practice runs.
What eats your time is the medium questions you think you can get with thirty more seconds. Thirty seconds turns into three minutes, about twelve times, and then you are behind. Pick your rule now and follow it on the day even when it feels wrong.
How loud is the room. I am extremely noise sensitive and this is my main worry
Quiet but not silent. Chairs, coughing, people turning pages, invigilators walking. If you are sensitive, practise with a bit of ambient noise rather than in perfect silence, because perfect silence is what you will not get.
Good thread. Worth pinning honestly, this comes up every cycle and having someone recent answer it properly is rare.
Congrats on the pass btw, easy to skip past that in the middle of the questions
Thank you π really still does not feel real. Opened the results email with one eye shut like an absolute coward
