When should you start building your index for the November sitting?
have not started. keep seeing people say theirs is half done. is august already late or am i being got at by this forum specifically

August is exactly right. If anything slightly early is worse than slightly late.
Build it too early and you end up indexing headings. Build it while you are doing questions and you end up indexing the things you could not find, which is the one you want. So start now but build it as you go rather than sitting down and doing it as a project.
People who say theirs is half done in early August have usually built the first kind.

Agree. Mine barely existed until mid September and it was the best one I have made.
started mine in june and have rebuilt it twice, do not be me

the first one was alphabetical by topic which sounds fine until you realise you do not think in topics under time. the second one was fine i just hated the colours
same, and the second rebuild nearly broke me. two full days of work for something nobody else will ever see. absolutely gutting.
