Unpopular opinion: the study schedules people recommend here are too aggressive
every thread is six hours a day, full timed exams from week one, index done by september.
i passed solicitor in june doing considerably less than that and i think the maximalist advice puts people off starting at all. it also selects for people who had no job, which is not most of us.
not saying do nothing. saying the floor is a lot lower than this board makes it sound.

Broadly agree, with one caveat.
The maximalist advice is loud because the people who did the bare minimum and passed do not post about it, and the people who did the bare minimum and failed post about it once and then leave. So the sample is skewed in both directions.
The floor is lower than this board implies. The floor is also not zero, and the gap between those two is where people get caught.

The variable is timed questions not hours imo. Know people who did 200 hours and failed having never once practised under the clock
Disagreeing slightly. The advice here skews hard because the people posting in August are disproportionately the anxious ones, and telling an anxious person the floor is low does not calm them, it gives them permission to keep not starting.
I think you are both right, which is annoying. The floor is lower than it sounds and the people reading this at midnight in a panic are not the ones who need to hear it.
