Can you write both the barrister and solicitor exams in the same sitting?
Registered for Barrister and Solicitor with about three weeks between them. Everyone I mention it to makes a face.
Has anyone actually done it. Is the professional responsibility overlap enough to make the second one easier, or does the first one just flatten you.

did both in the same window. completely doable, the face people make is about how it sounds not how it goes.
two things though. the professional responsibility overlap is real so do that section once properly for both. and do not count the three weeks in between as study time. i got maybe eight useful days out of mine and was a shell for the rest of it.
So build the plan as though the gap does not exist?
yes. plan to be ready for both before the first one. anything you get done in the gap is a bonus.
Counterpoint, I split mine across two sittings and would do it again. Doing both is fine until something goes wrong in your life during those three weeks, and then you have lost both instead of one.
That is a point nobody had made to me and it is the first one that has actually given me pause.
Nobody warns you about the indexes with both. Two full index builds, way more work than two lots of reading
