how close are your questions to the real thing
not asking anyone to tell me what is on the real exam, to be clear. just want to know how you write them and whether the difficulty is meant to match.

Fair question, and thank you for framing it the way you did.
Our questions are written from the published Law Society materials, by people who have sat the licensing examinations, and they are written to match the format and the reasoning the examinations ask for. They are not reproductions of anything, and nobody writing them has access to a real paper.
On difficulty, we aim slightly harder than we believe the real thing to be. That is deliberate. A practice exam that flatters you is worse than useless three months out, because it sends you into November confident about a gap you never found.
So if your score here is lower than you hoped, that is not necessarily a prediction. What the score is genuinely good for is telling you which subject to open next.
