i know it is far too early but what do people wear
fully aware this is a november problem and it is august. my brain has decided it is an august problem.
is anyone formal or is it a room full of people in hoodies

Nobody is looking at you and nobody cares. The only real consideration is temperature, because you have no control over the room and you are in it for hours.
Layers you can take off without standing up. That is the entire answer.
